We are happy to announce that the 2010 Lilac Queen was selected on April 11, 2010. Congratulations Courtney Willison! She is a sophomore from Spencerport High School.
Freshman, sophomore and junior high school students from across the Greater Rochester area are eligible to win this prestigious title and a $1,000 college scholarship! The 2009 Lilac Queen, Olivia Graham has been acting as an ambassador of the Lilac Festival, making several public appearances since last April.

The YNN Lilac Parade is the first parade of spring in the Rochester Area and will begin at South Avenue at Science Parkway, and travel down South Avenue to
Highland Avenue ending at Goodman Street.
High school Marching Bands, Police Pipe & Drum, local dignitaries and colorful floats are expected to participate again in this years parade. You can march too!
Parade
watchers are encouraged to take advantage of the parking and shuttle bus service at MCC.
Shuttle busses run from 8:30am-8:30pm on Parade Day. (Normal shuttle hours are
10:30am-8:30pm and run on SATURDAY and SUNDAY ONLY.)
A favorite attraction at the Lilac Festival is the two Art’s & Craft
Shows which take place on Festival weekends. Art Show booths are set-up along South Avenue near the
corner of Highland Avenue.
Both national and local artists are featured. Some of the arts and crafts on display at
this year’s Lilac Festival are ceramics, pottery, handmade wooden art, metal sculptures,
paintings, photography, floral arrangements, clothing, jewelry, furniture, lamps, mirrors,
and more.

The annual seniors day luncheon will be at the Cornell Cooperative Extension. The Seniors Day luncheon is available for groups of 10 or more. Grab a bite to eat here and then stroll through the park. Luncheon includes a boxed lunch, prepared by our local ABVI and a performance by a local elementary school. Boxed lunch includes a sandwich, salad, drink and dessert. Seating's are available on a first come, first serve basis. You cannot purchase tickets at the door for this event.

Rochester's favorite running race! Run either the 5K or the 10K, at 8:00AM and 9:00AM respectively. Both races start at the purple crosswalk on Highland Avenue and travel through the highland neighborhood. Race shirts will be provided to the first 1700 registered. There are water stops on the course and there will be post race refreshments held at the Cornell Cooperative Extension Building. Both the courses are certified to be accurate by USA Track & Field and offer awards for the winners.
